Sissonne Dance Art is proud to announce that our student, Haruno Sakura Uchikawa, has been accepted into the full-time programme at the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia, commencing in September 2024.

This remarkable achievement marks a historic milestone, as Sakura becomes the first Singaporean student to be admitted into the Bolshoi Ballet Academy’s full-time professional training programme.

Sakura has been a cherished member of the Sissonne family since the age of three and has trained under the guidance of our Principal, Ms Gwee Poh Lin. Throughout her years of training, she has demonstrated exceptional dedication, discipline, and passion for ballet, consistently striving for excellence both in and out of the studio.

In preparation for her auditions, Sakura also received coaching from Olga Mirza, former Master Teacher of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. Through years of dedicated training and mentorship, she successfully earned a place at one of the world’s most prestigious ballet institutions.

Sakura’s acceptance is a testament to her unwavering commitment, resilience, and love for the art form. Her achievement serves as an inspiration to aspiring young dancers and reflects the high standards of training and artistic development fostered at Sissonne Dance Art.
